"LAZARICE " IN GORNJE MEDJUROVO VILLAGE -SIGNIFICANT CULTURAL EVENT

Gornje Međurovo and the home of Toni and Jasna Ilieski- the location of the Equestrian club "Nonius", last weekend were the centers of tourist-cultural event "Lazarice" 2015. According to tradition, on this occasion of the great Christian holiday, "Lazar`s Saturday`, the seventh year in a row, gathered children with their parents and guests from the region in in this part of Palilula, which is also the sponsor of the event. This year there were more than five hundred from Nis, Svrljig, Dojevac.

Sunny morning began with songs for children and a tour of the inhabitants of the Gornje Međurovo, with picking flowers and making wreaths. Guests have already started arriving, folk ensembles and soloists, the participants of the competition in preparing fish soup.

The participants of this year "LAZARICA", representatives of the Serbian Armed Forces, civil society organizations, were welcomed by Milos Stojiljkovic, a member of Palilula Municipal Council in Nis. He stressed the importance of organizing this event, as an incentive for the development of tourism but also from the standpoint of preserving the traditions and culture of Serbian people.

The artistic ensembles, folk groups and soloists from Nis, Svrljig and Dojevac successfully entertained the assembled visitors. During that time, nine competing teams in fish broth cooking, completed their work. According to the jury most successful were the representatives of Palilula Municipality. The second place medals were won by a group of citizens from the village Rasadnik and third by the students of Hospitality and Tourism School of Nis. The program was completed with the declaration of the most beautiful Lazar and Lazarica, who received beautiful gifts of the organizers and sponsors of the event
